Do you know what I hate? Pharmaceutical commercials.
Cialis has a new ad campaign I keep seeing on the T.V. machine, that goes something like “When is it time to get out of the tub?” as far as I could hear as I was fumbling toward the mute button. I came up with some answers:
When the water gets cold.
When my toes and fingers get really wrinkled.
When I’m done washing myself.
When I’m falling asleep. (I only get to take baths late at night, after the kids are asleep.)
When the wine glass is empty.

Yes, and sex in water is overrated……just sayin’.
Add that to the list. Because it’s time to get it on, and the tub just isn’t going to cut it.
hahahah….I disagree. But that is besides the point.
I also HATE pharma ads, particularly those nasty male enhancement ads.
I do *not* want to think about old men having sex or four hour erections.
Yeah, and the imagery in these ads makes me cringe. Throwing footballs through tires and the like.
LOL. At least they finally said people would need to eventually get out of the tub – they’ve been using the separate bathtub imagery for years, and I’ve always chuckled that the drug wasn’t going to do those folks any good in their separate tubs!
Ha, I know! That’s why I think it’s so funny. Apparently they knew people were making fun of the tubs, and decided to make that the focus of their new campaign? Sounds counterproductive to me, but hey, I’m no drug marketing expert.
The one with the football through the tire swing makes me laugh every time. It reminds me of the episode of the Simpsons where Homer and Marge are, presumably, about to Get It On, and then we see a whole bunch of Suggestive Imagery (rocket rising and taking off, balloon inflating and rising, etc.) and then we see that it’s Bart and Lisa at a Stock Footage Festival and one of them says to the other, “Wonder what Mom and Dad are doing right now.”
LOL, I’ve seen that one!
You know what I hate about those ads? That there’s never another man in the tub.
LOL! What a great point! And, speaking as someone who is helping do research in the sexual habits of gay men (my research mentor’s team’s projects are all in this area), there is plenty of ED drug use by gay men, too.
Not only are all of the couples heterosexual, but they are all married. Many ads zoom in on their wedding bands. Blegh.
